I'm guessing I may have a hard drive issue...and have documents on that I need to obtain...any help in pulling off documents? Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. You saved me about some money. Any ideas?

Finally, when it was done, a message appeared that saiud "CHKDSK found one or more errors on the volume." Then there was a brief delay and some HD use data was Ali I got the message for unmounted boot volume and I did the chkdsk /p. Tried bootrec /fixboot, bootrec /fixmbr. Wonderful!!

BTW, first thing I did when I re-booted???? I experienced this problem directly as a result of a failed Windows 10 automatic update of Windows Defender.
